About Me

Jai Sugrim is a Yoga Teacher, athletic trainer, peak performance coach, public speaker and recognized men’s health expert.  Jai is the creator and host of Yoga Sutra Now, a 65 episode Television Show on Z Living, which aired in over 20 different countries including the U.S, Russia, Poland, Egypt, Australia, and Morocco. Jai has worked with many professional athletes, including the New York Yankees, during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. He earned a 2000 World Series Championship ring as the Yankees defeated the Mets in the World Series. He has been featured in Psychology Today, The New York Times, Mantra Magazine, and on The Today Show.  During 2014 & 2015, Jai taught yoga and mindfulness to high school students at Frederick Douglas Academy in Harlem, through a grant from the Sonima Foundation. During his two years at FDA, Jai saw how quickly children were able to absorb the yoga practice and apply the techniques towards stress reduction, increased focus for athletic performance, and accelerated learning in the classroom.  

Jai has worked in the health and wellness industry for 22 years. He is a C.S.C.S (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist,) L.M.T. (Licensed Massage Therapist,) Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher, Master Practitioner of N.L.P. (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and has Completed Vipassana Meditation Training. He is licensed by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American Council on Exercise, the International Sports and Sciences Foundation and Jivamukti Yoga School. Jai also studied Ashtanga Yoga under the guidance of Eddie Stern in NYC for over a decade.  

As a health & wellness educator, Jai enjoys sharing his healthy lifestyle and the enlightened teachings with students through his international retreats, speaking engagements, teacher trainings, TV appearances, one on one coaching, corporate wellness programs, and his writing.

Jai has completed three NYC marathons, run in hundreds of other road races, plays basketball, lifts weights, trains in martial arts, explores movement in all possible directions, and has practiced Yoga for over 20 years. Jai’s ultimate goal is to impact the education system and have yoga and mindfulness become an available elective for every high school and college student on the planet. He is based in NYC and resides in Brooklyn with his Doggie, Foxy Chancellor Sugrim.
