Ajna Yoga Festival Friday May 28th – Monday May 31st

The Ajna Yoga Festival is set on private property, in Dutchess County, Upstate New York. All practices are aimed at awakening the third eye,“ajna chakra”, the seat of knowledge. The idyllic practice setting in the heart of nature lends itself to insight, healing and integration. The festival is an invite only event for those who have practiced at length with yoga teacher and guide, Jai Sugrim.

We will be living in tents, with access to indoor showers and bathrooms. There is a stream to wade in, on property, and we will end each day with massive fires, mantra chanting and storytelling.

You will be served gourmet meals three times per day, made by professional chef Jeremiah Brimlow. Farm fresh eggs from the property are available every morning.

Transportation and Location

Arrive by Friday, May 28th at 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM EST

The trains from NYC arrive at Poughkeepsie Station on MTA, and Rhinecliff Station for the Amtrack Line. Both train stops are proximal to the festival location. The Festival Address and directions will be emailed to you upon registration. The land is a 90 minute drive away from NYC.

Negative COVID test is mandatory. All guests must be asymptomatic. Masks are optional, use your discretion and negotiate intelligently with respect to social distance.

We will be Living in Tents, on private property.

Bring your own sheets, blankets, and inflatables.

If you do not own a tent, one will be set up for you prior to your arrival.

The Ajna Yoga Festival is organized for you to go deeper inside of yourself, in a safe, supportive environment, where nature sings her song. You will have as much solitude as you need to write in your journal, listen to the birds, walk in the stream or play with the chickens. Sharing and storytelling at the evening fires is optional, but encouraged. You may think of the entire weekend as a reintegration ceremony. This is your chance to cultivate a powerful connection to your soul, that can be a guiding light, going forward.

Festival Guides

Jai

Jai Sugrim has been a health and wellness educator for 26 years. He is steeped in the Jivamukti and Ashtanga yoga lineages, and has a 15 year history of studying shamanism with master curanderos of the Peruvian Amazon. Jai has worked professionally with everyone from the New York Yankees, with whom he won a World Series Championship Ring in 2000, to scores of clients pursuing optimal performance, across multiple fields. Jai is the creator and host of Yoga Sutra Now a 65 episode tv show that aired in 96 million American homes and 20 different countries. He has also been featured in the New York Times, The Huffington Post, and Psychology Today. Jai loves to share yoga, health and mindfulness practices that help his students create peace of mind.

Brynja

Growing up between the lush forests of New York and the mossy lava fields of Iceland, Brynja has been immersed in nature spirituality since childhood. For over 10 years has been studying tools such as the I Ching, animal archetypes, and healing modalities that address untreatable or undiagnosable chronic pain and illness. After several life-altering spiritual encounters in nature resulting in the recovery from chronic illness, the study of spirituality has been my sole focus and career through modalities such as Shamanism, Eastern Spirituality, manual therapies, rituals, initiations, and nature immersion.

Nandani

Nandini brings an authentic and organic component to her yoga classes. Warm, nurturing and focused, her soothing tonality creates an environment welcoming to any student encouraging trust in themselves and their ability to deepen in concentration. Her clear direction and constructive alignment cues make a safe and inviting container for learning and exploration of the yoga postures. She incorporates live music with various instruments and chanting for sonic purification. Nandini encourages practitioners to question and search inside themselves,

become inspired, and always develop lightness and humility to guide their experience. Her teaching is an expression of her personal practice which above all is fundamentally about cultivating Peace & Love.
